'ignore #atproto at your peril" - true, and the major educational challenge is for those who don't yet have data to migrate, and think Bluesky is "just another platform".
Just do it. For two distinct reasons: 1. Your data moves to Europe. 2. The act of migrating is educational: It’ll help you understand what the AT protocol is and why it’s a hugely promising technology. If you’re in the business of knowledge, broadly conceived, ignore #atproto at your peril.
Promise v Reality: true in 2002, true today. (this won't take long; sound on) youtu.be/c3mMoeZ1Muw?...
I still haven't entirely made up my mind about WSocial, but for now I'll be going with "dubious closed fork". Captures my doubts perfectly. I still hope our doubts turn out to be unjustified, because a successful WSocial is a successful Atmosphere experiment, which can only be good.
Everything we’re building at @eurosky.social is possible because of the work of many others and we’re proud of it. From the AT Protocol to PDS to data tools to apps - it’s possible because of @bsky.app @blackskyweb.xyz @microcosm.blue and many others. Nothing would have been possible without them.
That final paragraph is a killer and certainly does put things in perspective.

Saving this for IFTYS, circa 2029. (medium.com/iftys)
Forgot to include the all important #atscience & @atproto.science when I posted direct from leaflet.
Managing scientific knowledge for policy on the ATmosphere
Two types of Atmosphere toolkit are needed if ATScience is to help scientists do science and better communicate it to other audiences: one serving the researchers and their teams, the other focused on aggregation and synthesis.
Father's Day came a day early this year.
Wonder why I don't get the sexy new @leaflet.pub preview when I post a link? I'm probably doing something wrong, but what?
