The weird dichotomy of seeing folks I respect posting about having fun at Google I/O and the general gloomy response to the announcements.

I know there are huge issues with this, but my vaguely informed hot take is that there should be more paid software. You offer a service with a decent value prop, I pay for it and get it without enshittification.

I mean, from a users point of view, there have been better alternatives available for a while. But for SEO and click-through, yeah, tough...
