I know it’s hard for insects to be seen above all the political noise in the feeds. But could there be anything more interesting than nature? A Common Sickle Bush-Cricket calmly cleaned its legs and watched me. A brief moment of connection in a noisy, damaged world. #Nature #Insects #Biodiversity

The melody of #GoldenAutumn here in the mountain world of the Engadine. Can you hear the smooth wind whispering through the larches? #SilentSunday #naturephotography #nature #beautifulearth #fall #landscape #switzerland #TheAlps

  • A view through golden larch branches towards the mountain landscape near Pontresina in the Engadin, Switzerland. In the foreground, soft-focus needles frame the scene, glowing warmly in shades of honey-yellow and rust-brown, typical of a high-altitude autumn. Beyond them stretches a sun-drenched slope, covered in a dense forest bathed in the same golden light. In the distance, a rugged, prominent peak of the Bernina range rises, its grey rock fading gently into a clear, deep blue sky. White clouds float like tufts of cotton wool above the ridges. The light is soft and crisp, characteristic of the Engadin, evoking a mood of quiet, vast silence and alpine expanse.

#SilentSunday at Lake of Constance

  • A landscape photograph of Lake Constance under a slightly cloudy sky on 3 October 2026. The lower third of the image shows the deep blue, calm expanse of water, which gently meets a distant, hazy shore in the background. The upper two-thirds of the image are dominated by a vibrant blue sky, streaked with fine, white cirrus clouds.

Wow, what #GlobalPriorities! Trillions are spent on the military, fossil fuels and AI, yet a fraction of that would be enough to solve existential problems such as #poverty #Inequality and #ClimateAction. Does anyone know who created the diagram?

  • Bar chart titled "Has humanity lost the plot?" comparing annual spending in US$ billions. Top section (Blue bars - Spending & Wealth): Military spending ($2,887B), Billionaire wealth gains ($2,545B), Global AI spending ($1,757B), Fossil fuel extraction ($1,200B). Bottom section (Orange/Grey bars - Protection & Losses): Cost to end extreme poverty ($318B), Climate adaptation needed ($310B), Climate & disaster losses ($220B), Actual climate adaptation finance ($26B), UN peacekeeping budget ($5.1B), Independent AI safety funding (~$0.5B).
