Quick tip: @zed.dev lets you use Ollama for tab-completion, so I use the `qwen2.5-coder:3b` model. If I had a machine with more memory, I might use a bigger model, but this one is reasonable and provides such a low-latency edit prediction experience that I love it. No server reliance here!
Will John Ternus have an iconic "Good Morning"? Or does he have to say something else?
Welcome to Offprint
Offprint is a publishing tool built for the open social web. It connects to the AT Protocol, giving your writing a home that is portable, permanent, and truly yours.
Did you hear that? It’s the sound of millions of wallpapers changing to photos of the moon.
My favorite part of the Claude Code leak is the “frustration detector”. It’s just a long list of profane words, and any response with one of those words gets logged. Pulling back the curtain on a magical, industry leading AI product reveals… a glorified word search?
I grew up on the internet but it’s still confusing to see the pitchforks come out for the most minor things. Bluesky is an opportunity to reinvent social media and with that opportunity, a bunch of people think “well maybe I still want to just be angry 😤”.
I love watching the jetstream, feels stalkerish to see stuff that hasn't passed "the algorithm" yet
Hope everyone is having fun at #atmosphereconf!! If anyone is building on Astro, check out my ATProto content loader - feedback appreciated 😁 github.com/chrisvander/...
@standard.site every implementation of comments I've seen piggyback off a Bluesky post. I think comments have slightly different needs, like quoting/highlighting, and it might not always be desirable to have a full Bluesky thread. Any thoughts on a lexicon for those?
Did a little project this weekend to get caught up with #ATProto dev. Wrote a custom lexicon `com.chrisvanderloo.project`, wrote and published an Astro loader, and loaded my projects section on chrisvanderloo.com directly from my PDS. Package here: github.com/chrisvander/...
Astro is an insanely well thought out metaframework. Very diligent on developer experience and minimizing overhead. Great release!

Going for practicality makes for a better product. A better product is easier to adopt. A network with more adoption is a network that will win. Nicely put, Paul!
Being able to "borrow" the network effect of ATProto creates a positive feedback loop that I think will continue to encourage growth. chrisvanderloo.com/posts/borrow...
