Career13
Led re-architecture of a multi-service decision support tool, built using Docker. Built frontend with TypeScript, React, Vite, and Jest unit testing. Services were written in Fortran, Java, and Python, communicating over RabbitMQ. Also a task lead on deploying candidate algorithms written in MATLAB, PyTorch, and NumPy to NVIDIA Jetsons in sensor cabinets for real-time analysis.
• Built software to assist data collection for the Urban Threat Dispersion program. This involved the deployment and tracking of non-toxic gases at 100 sites throughout New York City. • Built software to connect various sensors to a universal architecture for monitoring. • Created a multi-service architecture for a decision support tool orchestrated with Docker Compose. It was built with React, RabbitMQ, Flask, NGINX, PostgreSQL, and involved services written in Java, Fortran, R, Python, and JavaScript. • Created software to generate interaction networks based on real- world locations to analyze disease transmission over. • Ran high-performance computing (HPC) jobs to benchmark performance of using a Markov decision process (MDP) to intervene on an interaction network to slow the spread of a simulated disease.
Extension of the projects from my co-op.
Worked on projects for detecting and modeling chemical and biological threats in urban environments. • Developed an Android app for scouting out locations to place sensors, and manage collection and distribution of the sensors and collection wafers to capture particulates (which could identify threats). The app utilizes NFC scanning, QR code scanning, on-device SQLite database. • Created a server to manage synchronization of app data and app configuration, and allows for pairing of collection data with lab results. These tools will be used for a major NYC test in October 2020. The backend was constructed with MongoDB and NodeJS, with a Bulma and Pug-based frontend. • Created data ingest systems for live sensor streaming from an Amazon SQS queue to an on-premise Elastic Stack. This live data feed is used to design ML algorithms for detecting threats.
Worked on testing and creating a proof-of-concept app utilizing a secure version of SAP Cloud Platform for customer deployment. Additionally, created an internal reporting tool for the NS2 support organization to monitor incoming incidents, built with SAPUI5 and Cloud Platform.
Vice President of Philanthropy for the Interfraternity Council for RPI. This involves coordinating large-scale philanthropy events with the 25+ houses involved with the council, and the 1/3rd of campus that is involved with Greek life. The goal is to utilize Greek life to raise money for charities or to complete service projects within our local community. I am also the chair of the Philanthropy Committee.
Responsible for working with in a Scrum team to create a testing environment in order to automatically test the front-end of a customer-facing Tier 1 web application which has over 55,000 users. Utilized NodeJS and Selenium for automated testing. Worked on a second project utilizing VueJS and NodeJS to assist with finding conference rooms across the GE Aviation organization.
Selected as one of over 100 students to participate in a program spearheaded by serial entrepreneur Mahendra Vora to build a company over the course of 10 weeks. Worked as the lead developer for the product, managing a team of developers and creating a full-stack Ruby application. This MVP was presented at the end of ten weeks to a panel of interested business executives and veterans in the industry. This product was named AdmitAlly. Technical responsibilities included creating a product using front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS), an MVC framework and the MVC structure (Ruby on Rails), version control with Git and GitHub, CI/CD through Heroku (a PaaS service). Agile methodologies were used to organize tasks.
Worked for GE Aviation Business Solutions as an INTERalliance internship for the summer of 2016. I worked with the Spring framework to build an application to measure the health of a server. My work was used in an application for engine testing, where it allowed for tech to easily keep an eye on the backend and ensure analytics are being collected on the test.
