Happening this Thursday! luma.com/bz9as8ul?tk=...

Side Project Social · Luma

I rarely promote this event, it's pretty low key... but if you're in Toronto, every other Thursday in the evening I run an event at @1rg.space where we work on our side projects. If you have a side project and want to show it to some people, you should come! luma.com/75olmqob

Turns out housing policy actually does have an effect on what gets built!

@damienmoule.bsky.social avatarDamien Moule@damienmoule.bsky.social

To go along with multiplex permissions, Development Charge waivers, which previously applied to the 2nd/3rd/4th unit on a lot, were extended up to 6 units in July 2025. Multiplexes were one the few housing types to see more building permits issued in 2025/2026. 3/

Perhaps the best argument I've seen against the "death of FOSS due to AI" yet. > If you refrain from participating from the software of the commons, the only thing you're doing is surrendering more of our collective agency to abusive centralised powers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLZw... Good talk!

@bmann.ca You're usually faster than I am with these things, but meshllm.cloud is on the front page of HN right now and looks potentially cool for the Z space cluster?

some amazing things happening over on threads — ever since they “shut down CERN”

CERN has to be real. Why do the days magically feel longer again? I keep looking at the clock in disbelief.

At some point I gave my girlfriend my "intro to git" talk so we could make a website together, she's now giving the same presentation to a coworker in the other room!

The amount of times that Dropbox Fax has saved my ass is now 2. Incredible free service that hasn’t been enshitified.

MY on camera?!

A sign taped to a recycling bin that says “Your on camera” noting they’ll contact the cops if you dump recycling into their bins. The “your” used here is not the proper contraction of “you are”

This 3 part feature-length series on YouTube is a better review of Rob Ford than any docudrama or Netflix doc could ever be. It dives deep into the policy, council drama, political strategy, and antics of this insane and frustrating era, and it's worth your time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACJ...

Managed to implement an RSS feed using Qwen3.5:9b. It's not the fastest and writes mediocre code, but it also runs entirely locally, won't be subject to post-token-subsidy price fluctuations, and won't send all my data to anyone!
