@juliet.paris Hey hey, did you make the pronouns labeler? I can't seem to find it any more. Is there an alternative?

There are still people using the term XP (eXtreme Programming) unironically.

My bank's app is asking me to make a prediction about the next NL World Cup match. Same bank that put out a "wrapped" back at the end of the year. These are not things a bank needs to do :(.

Feeling a little rebellious, I thought, "what could I do to gradually wear down the mental state of a fellow rubyist?" I came up with this ~/.irbrc snippet. Useful? #ruby

Sonic the Hedgehog is 35 years old. When the franchise was just 10, they went full 128bit 3D with Adventure on the Dreamcast. That was 25 years ago. Cyberpunk 2077 is 6 years old. Some gaming facts blowing my mind today.

Still regularly surprised by how many devs don’t know/notice the difference between a warning and an error. The warning isn’t causing your code to crash, you’re barking up the wrong tree.

These skinny little mushrooms are standing proud and doing their thing this morning. More so than myself, given we're out of coffee.

A picture of two mushrooms with very thin, rather long stalks and thin, roundish conicalish caps. They stand in a meadow with dew on the cut grass. In the distance are trees, a house, some agility equipment, and greenhouses.

Received another three horsefly bites today (that I noticed), but I still don't feel like a horse.

Trivial to replace bsky results with @mu.social results via Kagi's redirect rules. kagi.com/settings/red... ``` ^https://bsky.app|https://mu.social ```

Peeling off the thin scratch protector on a new device is one of life's joys. Peeling off a scratch protector which is in fact not a scratch protector but instead part of the thing you're peeling it off is, on the other hand, one of life's horrors.

Moved my blog (now with an intro page) over to Zola and added @standard.site publishing. It's a pretty simple site but would have been quite a big conversion done by hand. Hoping to write some more in the near future.

Microsoft's SSO UX is great. 1. Receive alert that my session has timed out. 2. Click on Sign in, next to said alert. 3. Watch browser redirect until I'm told I've been signed out and I should close my browser windows. 4. Manually visit the site I was originally on, see that I'm now signed in. ✨

I struggled to get to sleep last night because my head was filled with ideas on garage/workshop storage solutions. Y'all wish you were this interesting.

Last week, I found a tiny toad and shared it here to a surprisingly popular response. As if to ask "does Bluesky prefer frogs or toads?" I discovered a tiny frog today. It was mighty jumpy and looked a little grumpy. I hope I didn't hassle it too much!
