On Falling
Laura Carreira
Haunting slow burn film about the struggles of underpaid gig workers in a technocapitalist society. Her situation feels relevant to everyone, in a world where machines increasingly automate everything, we all turn into cogs in a mindless machine.

Cuba (Winner of the Pulitzer Prize)
Ada Ferrer
Rich and detailed novel exploring the long and complex history of Cuba, a country which has been intricately woven into US politics for centuries but many people rarely think about. Unfortunately also quite relevant in the current political environment.

The Book of Coffee
Julian Baggini
An interesting meditation on the ritual of coffee drinking, veers into the rather judgemental and occasionally feels like the author grasps for straws to connect his zen ideals with coffee. Overall somewhat enjoyable, but my favorite parts were James Hoffman's introduction and especially afterword.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Michael Jelenic
visually exciting movie with a good amount of fan service, ultimately let down by being clearly written for children, basically no plot i will also say if you decide to watch it and they say theres an after credits scene, i would skip it, it was extremely cringe and left a horrible taste for the whole movie

Mr. Nobody Against Putin
David Borenstein
Very moving and beautiful movie documenting the banal reality of a country descending into fascism, throwing ever escalating resources into a war they know they cannot win. A haunting indication of what could become of the US under our current war-thirsty, propaganda enthusiast administration.

Roach Post
I've played a few runs of this game and honestly do not get what the hype is about. The general "filling a box" mechanic is kind of fun but - the story feels extremely half baked - the art is kind of cute, but still feels like a demo - music is meh - fairly limited set of roaches / bonuses overall the game just feels kind of repetitive and half baked, even if the art style and concept are nice in theory.
