A closeup of the concrete that makes up the interiors of DC metro stations. This is more abstract with parallel lines on a wall defining different physical concrete structures.

Staring at walls #photography

A square photograph shows a close-up, straight-on view of the corner of a building. The building's exterior is composed of three distinct sections: a white, flat surface on the left, a vertical strip of plywood in the center, and a dark gray, textured surface on the right. The white surface appears slightly mottled, with subtle variations in tone and texture. The plywood strip is narrow and runs vertically, showing wood grain and a darker stain along its bottom edge. The gray surface has a rougher texture and a slightly lighter shade in the upper right. A faint, branched shadow stretches across the white surface, suggesting a tree or shrub nearby. The lighting is even, casting a subtle contrast between the different surfaces.

We love to see his “I want to wrestle” look

A medium sized dark brindle dog looks at the camera. He is standing and there is a faint outline of a guitar and a glow of light behind his head. He has very large ears.

A reminder of warmer days this past summer. 🎞️: Ektar (1), Provia 100 (2,3) 📷: Nikon N70 #filmphotography #believeinfilm

More lessons in photography in the snow (this time in b/w). I enjoyed shooting in b/w here as I could overexpose by 2 or more stops to show the brightness of the snow, and still resolve the sparkles in the snowflakes. 📷: Nikon F100 with 24-120 f/4 G 🎞️: Kentmere 100(?) #filmphotography

Photo of 3 mounds of snow in the forest. Forest floor is covered in snow and the low light is hitting the three mounds from the left, casting long shadows.

Learning some lessons in metering Kodak E100 in the snow (settling on +1.67 to 2 EV in the sun). 📷: Nikon F100 with 24-120 f/4 G 🎞️: Flic Film (respooled Kodak E100) #filmphotography #believeinfilm

Scene overlooking a narrow frozen river in portrait orientation. Foreground contains dead grasses poking through the snow. Midground is the frozen river. Background is the shoreline containing conifers reaching to the sky. The needles of the conifers are dusted with snow.

Looks like I need to put both jackets on the dog and unguent on his feet today.

God grant me the confidence of people on mushroom ID groups who will repeatedly ID Jack O’ Lantern mushrooms as chanterelles.

RIP to a legend. I don’t think I would have taken up tabla without his influence on my musical tastes.

Photo taken at Carnegie hall, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, showing 4 musicians on stage from the audience.

JUST IN: Hussain's career spanned over five decades, during which he was revered as both a national treasure in India and admired worldwide.

Love that searching for information online now consists of “search query” + “forum”/“reddit” and then reading a bunch of posts to see if the website you’re looking for actually exists. In any case, but if anyone is putting on winter rims/tires and needs pressure info, tiresize.com/pressure-cal...

First time shooting with Velvia 50 and I was lucky to catch the sunset. #filmphotography #filmisnotdead

Photo of a sunset in the distance. The sun is no longer visible, but the sky is a vibrant orange, fading to dark higher up in the sky. The bottom 25-30% of the photo is the horizon in black. There is a silhouette of a small hill emerging from the horizon.

You know it's November in PA when you're not the only one wearing blaze orange clothing at the gym.

Did I have to hike in the dark after taking this photo? Yes. Was I speaking out loud to any bear that was in the vicinity? Also yes.

Photo taken at sunset, looking roughly east. The sky is layered, with whiter sky at the top, then gradually changing to a dark orange, and then a rapid transition to greyish blue near the horizon. Ridge and Valley Appalachian mountains in the bottom 8th of the photo.

As someone who road trips a lot, electrolyte drink (non caffeinated), pizza pringles, banana+orange, and those frozen Twix ice cream bars.

Okay, I'm tired of election stuff, so let's try something else: you have $20 and need to get gas station snacks for a road trip - what are you getting?
