  • A desolate, surreal landscape featuring a large, weathered stone ring or archway positioned on the right side of the frame. It stands on a vast, flat expanse of textured brown dirt or sand that stretches to a sharp, flat horizon. The sky transitions from a clear blue at the top to a pale, greenish-yellow near the horizon line. The entire image has a heavy, noisy film grain or stippled texture, giving it an otherworldly, eerie atmosphere. The ring casts a long shadow to the right across the barren ground.

  • An anime-style illustration of a young woman with a short, pale silver-white bob and straight bangs, staring directly forward with a somber, intense expression. She wears a light gray, high-collared jacket over a black turtleneck. Behind her is a dark, blurry nighttime cityscape rendered as soft bokeh lights in white and violet, overlaid with heavy film grain, vertical streaks, and orange-and-purple chromatic fringing that give the whole scene a lo-fi, glitchy, melancholic mood.

  • A surreal, fog‑shrouded landscape rendered in muted purples, blues, and grays with a soft, painterly texture. In the upper‑left corner, ornate white cursive script appears to read something completely illegible, ending with an uppercase L. A smooth, pale abstract sculpture pierced by a circular hole rises from the mist in the center‑right, while a tall metal lattice tower—topped by a small railed platform and a thin antenna spire—stands partially veiled in fog on the right. The foreground is a mottled, cracked earth surface that dissolves into low‑lying mist beneath a gradient sky, giving the scene an ethereal, desolate mood.

  • This low-light, slightly grainy photograph captures a cloudy night sky. The moon sits just below the center of the image as a tiny, sharp white point, diffused by a thin veil of cloud into a radiant corona—a glowing ring of milky white that warms to soft beige and rose at its edges. Beyond this halo, the heavens are blanketed in patchy, scale-like clouds (resembling altocumulus), their undersides shadowed in deep charcoal and their rims faintly silvered by moonlight. In the bottom-right quadrant, two or three slender utility wires cut a quiet diagonal line across the scene, grounding the otherwise ethereal, atmospheric view.

  • grey clouds scattered over the sky in this landscape with a lake bed in the foreground and a mountain range along the horizon, shafts of light falling on the hillsides through the clouds
  • an outstretched arm holds a fountain beverage, a fence and mountainous landscape in the out of focus background

basically if you have an idea that you want to be able to spread to other people, politics or journalism or pretty much anything, it has to be AI-friendly (no paywall, no crawler blocking) and you have to chill out about copyright. surprisingly few understand this

  • Information Environment Asymmetry Why the JCP? The researchers traced the pattern to the sources AI models cite when making recommendations. The JCP operates Akahata, a self-described daily newspaper published on a fully open website that AI web-search tools can freely access. In contrast, Japan's major news outlets have implemented technical barriers (known as robots.txt restrictions) that block AI crawlers from accessing their content, a move driven by copyright concerns.
