Just set up an #Nginx server so I can try out @sym8.io on it later. The setup was easy and very similar to Apache. Adapting the .htaccess rules will probably be the biggest hurdle. But so far: It works!

A redirect mechanism for backend pages was already partially implemented in #Symphony, but never completed because the login form was rendered directly on the requested page. The login page is now the central entry point for unauthenticated requests to backend and protected frontend pages. #Sym8

Improved: Redirect unauthenticated requests via Symphony's login page · Sym8-io/sym8@cee2994

After spending the past two years focused on @sym8.io, I realized I'd neglected my private #Nextcloud updates. Today I upgraded from 29 to 34.0.2 through all major releases. Surprisingly smooth and trouble-free. Huge thanks to the Nextcloud team for making such a long upgrade path work so reliably.

Den Dr. habil. Steinkamp schätze ich sehr. Er bringt seine Fragen immer mit so einer Tiefe und auf den Punkt. Guter Mann.

Wishing you all a meaningful National Veterans Day. I am proud of my 12 years in the German Air Force and especially my time with LTG 62 in Wunstorf. Many memories, many missions, many friendships. #VeteransDay #Veteranentag #Bundeswehr #AirForce #LTG62

In version 2.84.2 of my project @sym8.io, the installer UI was modernized and migrated to #PicoCSS, including RTL support. The next step in 2.85.1 focuses on the “Login“ and “Forgot Password” UI, bringing them in line with the installer using Pico CSS, RTL support and #A11y.

If you're maintaining websites with Symphony CMS on #PHP7: You can still take advantage of the improved JIT — it's available in its own GitHub repository for easy drop-in updates. #SymphonyCMS

@sym8.io avatarSym8@sym8.io

The JIT Image Manipulation extension has been improved! It now supports two additional image formats: BMP and #AVIF. Compatibility has been enhanced by adding conditional imagedestroy() and unset() logic for #PHP7 and #PHP8 environments. #Sym8 #SymphonyCMS #OpenSource #PHP #WebPerformance

The first Sym8 release was... let's say ambitious 😅 Documentation, website, GitHub & Bluesky — all at once. A few small issues slipped through, not really my style. The first patch is already underway and planned for December 2 — improving the initial workspace setup and JIT image handling. #Sym8

My new open source project Sym8 is live and also available on GitHub now.

Sym8 is finally live! 🚀 Built on the legacy of Symphony CMS — fully updated for PHP 8, with modern extensions, native HTML5 fields, and improved accessibility out of the box. - Discover it at sym8.io - Code available on GitHub: github.com/sym8-io/sym8 #Sym8 #SymphonyCMS #PHP84 #OpenSource

30 years ago today, I lost my twin brother Karsten. And he is deeply missed. 💙

@sym8.io avatarSym8@sym8.io

Why Sym8 starts at version 2.84.0? There is a clear logic behind the scheme: • 2️⃣ → reflects the underlying Symphony codebase • 8️⃣4️⃣ → maximum supported PHP version (8.4) • 0️⃣ → patch level

Bei der ZDF #Küchenschlacht ist der Mittwoch ja schon lange Veggie-Day, aber immer noch mit Parmesan. Seit heute ist nur noch Käse aus mikrobiellem Lab erlaubt. Top! 👍
