just finished recording an episode of the UIT INSIDE podcast on ATProto with @danabra.mov if you don't run a podcast, I'd highly recommend starting one - just to get to sit down with folks like dan for an hour. ❤️ the atmosphere is exciting, will try to get the episode out sometime next week!
modern web tooling produces few tightly packed cross-library bundles tailored to your app - but in a COS world, you'd probably want to preserve module graphs of canonical chunks to increase cache hit rates 🤔 now imagine a world where v8 had bytecode caches for all those modules.. 🤯
got access to new siri and so far I'm underwhelmed. - could not get it to play a song for me on spotify - it ends voice input mid sentence even though I am clearly still speaking - it struggles picking up words - the UI is beautiful, but very very buggy still very early beta though
I've always enjoyed Hegelian dialectics - I picture them as a pendulum swinging back and forth, gradually settling through friction. A pendulum alone might be the simplest system imaginable. Attach just one more pendulum, though, and you get pure chaos. To me, that explains much of the real world.
years ago I painstakingly set up the network for my parents' beer garden back over in Germany - a decently complex mesh system (multiple network printers, etc.) Yesterday, my dad called our ISP's support for an unrelated issue. Their advice: just stick a needle in the router to do a factory reset!
I'm a sucker for those spontaneous street races where you walk with approximately the same gait as a stranger heading the same way, so you enter a fierce battle for valor - pretending you didn't notice, but secretly queueing a 185bpm song ready to engage every muscle of that elite walking apparatus.
