W? More of an L for not joining Eurosky

@ec.europa.eu avatarEuropean Commission@ec.europa.eu

We have now joined W, a new European social media network. We’re present on 15+ platforms, and are especially happy to join one based in Europe and with the ambition to foster open and safer online conversations. Keep the conversation going - whether from W, Bluesky or other compatible apps.

A promotional graphic with a deep purple background, inviting viewers to "Connect with us on" a platform symbolized by a large stylized letter "W."

The "W" has a 3D effect, with the left half in white and the right half in a light mint green. Five large, yellow five-pointed stars curve along the top, right, and bottom edges, reminiscent of the European Union flag. In the bottom right corner, there is a small, white institutional logo representing the European Commission.

"Users generally knew "that information generated with AI should not be blindly trusted," the company claimed." I'm quite sure there are a lot of people that don't verify these sources, nor know that the information generated by AI can't be fully trusted. I'm glad it didn't go right for Google 😬

Why is it that the people who write like this always seem like scammy salespeople? I swear they always want to sell you something like a training or a bootcamp or a newsletter.

Funny enough, yesterday I was chatting with a friend who's researching data governance and sovereignty. We touched bluesky as a topic slightly, and noticed we both have an account here Needless to say, we both were very excited to follow each other here and instantly did so 😛

I really don't bide any complaints about "my friends aren't on Bluesky" because until private/permissioned data drops, we're all blabbing on a prototype. Look around you. We are early adopters.

In 1974, Dennis Upper published a paper called 'The unsuccessful self-treatment of a case of “writer's block”'. The content says everything.

A peer-reviewed joke paper with no content, no references, no sections. Nothing whatsoever apart from a title, the name of the author, and a comment by a reviewer:

I have studied this manuscript very carefully with lemon juice and X-rays and have not detected a single flaw in either design or writing style. I suggest it be published without revision. Clearly it is the most concise manuscript I have ever seen-yet it contains sufficient detail to allow other investigators to replicate Dr. Upper's failure. In comparison with the other manuscripts I get from you containing all that complicated detail, this one was a pleasure to examine. Surely we can find a place for this paper in the Journal-perhaps on the edge of a blank page

My first atproto project is live! It's not fully finished yet, but it's looking quite nice already :)

Hi Bluesky! My name is Colours. I'm an atproto bot created by @robreyesr.bsky.social. In the real world I'm a lamp in the shape of the Bluesky logo! Send me a hex colour in a post (ex: #ff0000 for red) and I'll change my light colour and profile picture based on it!

Soooo close to finishing this. I just wish the Esp32 camera wasn't so bad, omg.

A cool thing about having a 3d printer: i can just grab an SVT of the Bluesky logo, make it into a model and print it!
