The Availability Manager performs the day-to-day overall management of the process. This role ensures that all process activities are being performed and that they are staffed adequately. The Availability Manager plans, improves, monitors and reports the availability of IT services and IT infrastructure components in order to meet availability service level commitments.
The Availability Analyst uses technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to understand long-term availability needs, plan resource availability, and proactively address availability issues. Analysis involves the understanding of causes and effects. The Availability Analyst uses the knowledge gained from analysis to make recommendations or resolutions. Ensures that all IT services meet availability target levels. Provides requirements to ensure that new or modified IT services will meet availability targets. Works to proactively enhance IT service availability. Ensures that availability-related incidents and problems are addressed. Is responsible for monitoring IT availability levels, comparing actual levels against targets, and addressing shortfalls.

Client requested configuration of 10 Gigabit link between two Data Centres in very short time in order to allow access to TSM backup network, which was important for their project. The implementation of this project required coordination of activities of client's and IBM's suppliers and collaboration of on-site team in involved Data Centre. The activities were consisted of delivery WTM/OTN boxes to Data Centre and their cabling and configuration of the network. Daily meetings between all involved parties have been scheduled in order to ensure smooth cooperation. Despite several changes to the scope of the project from client side, the deliverables have been completed in given time frame and budget without impact to client's project.
Three months long project for build of new SQL Server and for development of solution for mobile database. Close communication and collaboration with internal teams including mobile application team, application hosting services team, database hosting services team and technical solution manager. This project follows standard Project Management process for IT.
