Rust is a statically typed, ahead of time compiled and memory safe programming language. But sometimes, the restrictions Rust puts on us developers can be a hindrance, for example when prototyping new application ideas or when you want your end users to be able to change your application’s runtime behavior. Thankfully, we can embed dynamically typed scripting languages with a lower learning curve into our Rust applications to get the best of both worlds.

Light is commonly assumed to travel linearly from source to destination. There are however cases where the path of light can be bent or distorted. In the case of black holes for example, the light is attracted by a very strong gravitational center. Heated air can change the direction of light through the varying refraction caused by the temperature transition from heat source to environment. Creating an interactive environment for exploration of such phenomena may help in understanding the images they bring to life.

Die schlechte Unterstützung von Wayland unter Nvidia-Treibern hat zurecht einen Meme-Status erreicht. Aber gerade in den letzten Jahren hat sich einiges getan, um diesen Status zu verbessern, sowohl seitens Nvidias als auch in der Wayland-Community. Und dank großer Fortschritte im Nouveau-Projekt sind Anwender:innen nicht mehr alleine auf Nvidia angewiesen, auch ein vollkommen offener Grafikstack scheint wieder in greifbarer Nähe. Daher stelle ich mir 2024 wieder die Frage: Lässt sich Wayland endlich problemlos mit Nvidia-GPUs nutzen?
