Caring for the day to day business for the Technical Facilities team and the Network Operations team, making sure the teams receive the support and tools to maintain and repair critical facilities on all Verizon operated sites, provide guidance for network builds and internal projects. In parallel keep the dialogue going with other business units managing Global Real Estate and Local Network Planning, as well as external maintenance vendors.

Managing the Field, Network, Technical Facilities and Data Centre Operations on day to day operational aspects, with respect to network provisioning and continuity. Providing support to engineers and regional planning team for customer install, preventive maintenance and repair. Responsible for the budget for network reliability and break/fix activities. Monitoring progress on a clean, neat and safe program, and include training sessions in the team schedules. Search for energy savings, working with planning and engineering teams for implementations. Actively support ISO14001 and ISO9001 programs. Keeping track of personal development within the team, setting objectives and measure performance.

Member of the board, responsible for all financial aspects enabling the staff-team volunteers to deploy and present challenging activities for all the members of Scouting Altenagroep. Applying (new) rules and regulations, coach staff-team volunteers.

Fully responsible for the Dutch IP and DIAL Networks in the areas Service Delivery, Capacity Planning, Maintenance and Repair. Managing three teams with different interrelated disciplines, setting personal objectives, monitor progress and follow up during appraisal discussions. Supplying management reports, and managing internal and customer escalations. Regularly discuss operational issues with external vendors and internal teams with a direct relationship to Operations. Creation and controlling yearly budgets. Creation and implementation of Service Level Agreements for third parties. Defining internal and external standards, functional and operational parameters. Tracking and contribution to cross functional projects, directing the involved Project Managers.

Responsible for all Planning, Installation and Activation tasks of the newly build UUNET IP Backbone, and in parallel decommissioning the existing IP Network. Managing the Install Engineers, monitor their progress and development and follow up during appraisal discussions. Defining internal and external standards, following existing design specifications. Monitoring physical implementations and specific instructions, giving directions for improvement where needed. Supplying third line support for Network related issues. Supplying management reports.

Managing all Network equipment in the EMEA WAN as a member of the US based core Network team. Designing and implementing QoS Network services for specific time critical applications, using prioritization schemes. Implementing Network and Device monitoring services for the global Network, with automated reporting capabilities. Giving management advice for using specific Network services and Network equipment.

Installing and configuring Network elements, connecting customer and Backbone services to the IP core Network. Giving support on all related Network issues, and remotely manage third party vendors. Exploring, testing and recommending improved and more dense Network devices and services.

Advising, designing and implementing an MS Windows oriented desktop environment with a seamless interface to an existing AS/400 server, replacing traditional clients. Day to day Netware, PC Client and AS/400 administration. Developing supporting Delphi applications for several departments. Implementation of a secure daily Tape Backup routine.
