Designed and developed an AI-powered web extension, “Ducky,” that enhances digital literacy and cybersecurity by detecting phishing emails, fact-checking online sources, and offering real-time chat assistance. The project was created for the World Wide Technology (WWT) 10th Annual STEM Student Forum, where the theme focused on improving digital safety and awareness within our community.

Collaborated with teammates to integrate natural language processing and machine learning into a user-friendly browser extension, making advanced cybersecurity tools more accessible to everyday users. After building and testing the solution, we presented Ducky to a panel of WWT executives, showcasing its technical capabilities and community impact.

TownTalk is a social media platform designed to bridge the gap in how students connect, moving beyond the limitations of existing platforms. Instead of reinforcing isolation or fueling assumptions based on curated posts, TownTalk fosters authentic, open interaction among peers and people around the world.

Key Features & Highlights:
• Bulletin Board + Global Map Feed: Posts are organized like a community bulletin board, allowing users to share with friends or connect with strangers across the globe. A built-in map lets users explore local and international feeds, broadening their exposure to diverse voices and cultures.
• Positive, Community-Focused Design: TownTalk is built to counteract negativity and cyberbullying. Its emphasis on transparency, empathy, and connection shifts social media away from comparison and toward understanding.
• Iterative and Feasible: The platform’s design evolved through continuous feedback. Some ambitious ideas—such as verifying public officials—were explored but set aside for scalability, allowing the team to focus on features that could be built efficiently with Flutter and Appwrite.
• Motivation: Developed by high school students who saw how traditional social platforms often isolate rather than unite, TownTalk aims to create shared spaces for communication that are more open, less filtered, and more community-oriented.

TownTalk won 1st place in competition and earned an invitation to Washington, D.C., for House of Code, demonstrating both its technical promise and real-world impact.
