I spent most of my professional career working what ever fast food or temp agency that would hire me first. I have recently been working on my technical and writing skills hoping to build an audience and maybe break into tech.
Skills I've acquired from working in food service and manufacturing...
- Attentive to details: (Including watching labor to insure proper staffing to sales ratio, managing inventory documenting loses to spoilage, returns, or theft)
- Good at boosting team moral making sure every voice is heard
- Safety conscious
- Customer relations / De-escalation
- Scheduling (in food service this can be a nightmare if you have never done it, availability of students changes on the fly/weekly and in general the turn over rate is atrocious)
