Environmental Affairs Campaign Co-Chair

Oxford SU

Mar 2024 - Feb 2025

Consulted on environmental initiatives from Oxford County Council, and evaluated Oxford University’s net-zero and sustainability targets. Through social media, I gathered student perspectives on sustainability projects, and ran an educational series on climate literature. I collaborated with Plant-based Universities to increase their reach and push for vegan catering at student union events.

JCR LGBTQ+ Representative and IT Officer

University College, Oxford

Dec 2022 - Nov 2024

In that order, for a term of 1 year each. As IT Officer for my student body, I built a Progressive Web App (PWA) for freshers to easily browse Welcome Week events. Previously new students were given a laminated piece of A4 paper, which inevitably got lost, or left behind when it was too big for your pockets. Rather than leave students to squint at a zoomed-in photo, I developed an interactive and dynamic PWA which could be accessed even despite Oxford's infamous data connectivity issues. Freshers could see updates, chat with student ambassadors, and get tickets all from one place. The proprietary code I wrote for this is still being used now.
