Independent work
Attended online classes at Oregon State University pursuing a second degree in Computer Science. I did this to increase my knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and the Software Development Lifecycle to upskill for positions in Quality Assurance and Support spaces. Began working in Open Source communities such as AT Protocol. I have helped arrange and hosted meetups for local community members. We have held hack nights, socials, and presentations for over 2 years now with a strong core community continuing to grow and collaborate. Attended multiple professional conferences including Pycon 2025 and AtmosphereConf 2025 & 2026. At both Pycon and AtmosphereConf I worked as a volunteer to help assist with running registration tables and acting as a guide for attendees. I spent my time attending talks about innovations in the machine learning and data science spaces to help grow my understanding of these roles I will collaborate with in my career. I have honed my skills in server administration and related topics through my home-lab setup. I have setup and run two continuous services for myself, a custom internet homepage and the immich app for personal photo storage. Using a VPS, I have run an AT Protocol Personal Data Server, using it as a playground to further my understanding of the ecosystem. I have also setup multiple servers, ensuring hardening for security with basic tools like fail2ban and CrowdSec while using a reverse proxy (NGINX & Caddy) to serve the local apps. This has increased my knowledge of containerization through Docker and related tooling.
I provided Tier 2 and 3 service to internal employees through live chat and phone channels alongside submitted tickets. I maintained a 98%+ positive Customer Satisfaction rating throughout my tenure. In Seattle I helped lead multiple networking projects to address gaps in coverage and misconfigurations of local access points. I worked alongside our virtualization team to help support new tooling launches for internal tools, writing and reviewing documentation and help center articles to ensure accuracy and easy availability to users. I was recognized as a subject matter expert in group and access management tooling, helping to deliver on multiple emergency communication projects with short time-tables. I worked on special projects with the Executive Support Team helping to support AV conference rooms and meeting areas, ensuring high availability and proper remediation of faults by working with vendor teams and other engineers. Provided white glove service in 1:1 tickets to ensure prompt resolutions to each inquiry. I applied Python, Bash, and Powershell to my workflows to create automation scripts and boost efficiency. Worked on 1:1 mentorship initiatives for new hires to help acclimate them to their new positions. Served as 1:many Senior Mentor for Seattle WA regional team. Promoted within ladder based on outstanding performance in training new engineers and delivering on multiple regional projects.
Member of a specialized inventory team to assist district with 1:1 technology initiatives and maintenance on IT equipment. Daily duties included school visits to deliver equipment and accessories, and assist with setup of new technology (iPads, AppleTV, Chromebooks) Used Apple General Services Exchange to replace broken devices and ensure proper documentation was in place on student and school records. I helped inventory, tag, and configure new devices for scheduled refreshes while also ensuring all old devices were wiped, cleaned, and retired in our inventory system. Helped review and write documentation for internal technology teams on an ongoing basis to ensure information was up-to-date and readily available.
Provided Tier 1 support for Bernandine Sitts Intermediate Center and its 500+ users. Helped with account resets and basic diagnostic troubleshooting on day-to-day basis. Completed an end of year audit to ensure all devices in building were properly documented. I used WordPress CMS to ensure our school website had all upcoming calendar events and information present.
