Highlights

Full profile

Ive spent close to 30 years working where technology meets business decisions. I started out writing firmware and test plans for Motorolas GSM infrastructure, then moved up the stack: device strategy at Vodafone and O2, product development at UK Broadband, solution architecture and innovation at Sky, and emerging technology at bp.What I do best now is lead the work before the build. Working out which technologies matter, testing them properly, and turning the answer into a decision a board can fund.I do that by bringing people with me. I led a 20-person Solution Architecture and Analysis team at M&G Prudential through agile and cloud transformation. At Sky and Motorola Solutions, I matrix-managed cross-functional teams through large proofs of concept and strategic programmes. Ive run design boards and architecture communities that gave teams a shared standard and a common language. At Sky, I created the Innovation Ideation Process (IDEATE), a structured way to evaluate and pilot data and AI opportunities. It gives business and engineering teams clear gates and shared goals, so everyone knows what an idea has to prove before it moves forward. I led seven enterprise data platform evaluations, benchmarked against Comcast and NBCUniversal standards, and secured over £2M of executive funding through business cases. Before that, I evaluated IoT, robotics and wearables for bp's global operations, including Boston Dynamic's Spot, and gave build-versus-buy recommendations to senior executives.Today I'm a Solution Architect in Sky's Global Commerce team, responsible for how our MarTech stack (Braze, Branch and mParticle) evolves at scale across Peacock, SkyShowtime and NOW in multiple territories. I also use Cursor and Microsoft 365 Copilot to sharpen my outputs and ways of working.I'm at my best leading people, setting direction, and helping senior stakeholders make confident technology decisions. If you're working on innovation, technology strategy or emerging technology adoption, Im always happy to talk.
