Innovator of the Year

Sep 2024

Cash App has pushed the boundaries of Own’s products, innovating with cutting-edge functionality that has redefined customer engagement and operational efficiency for the company. Facing the daunting task of managing large volumes of data, Cash App developer Evelyn Maguire began a robust testing method, corrupting data intentionally within a sandbox environment to simulate a data loss scenario. Given the scale of their operations, traditional methods were impractical. Instead, Maguire engineered a polymorphic batch Apex class designed to corrupt specific data systematically. This class, through a sophisticated chain of queueables, allowed Cash App to mimic data corruption at scale, sending notifications as each batch completed its process. This creative use of Own’s capabilities has set a new standard for what can be achieved with the platform, offering a blueprint for other organizations to follow. “As a Salesforce developer, feeling confident in the products I use is critical to me,” says Evelyn Maguire, Salesforce Developer at Cash App. “I’m proud to have been recognized for the innovative work I’ve done using Own products. The Own Awards are an incredible opportunity to share projects we’ve done, and see what other organizations are achieving, too.”
