2021-06-25 timing test for methodology talk

43-52 min

I did this timing test for a talk last year but I got pulled into something else before I could make the deck. Since it's been almost a year (minus what, eight days?) and I haven't budged on it, I'm just putting it up as-is. Note that around 13:55 I make a mistake: I should say 1, 2, 3, 4 instead of 2, 3, 4. 00:00 - preamble 00:57 - ground truths/point of departure 02:35 - combination (decomposition) 05:06 - salience 07:25 - relevance 11:55 - permutation (sequence of operations) 15:42 - thin vs fat tails 18:07 - my pet theory 21:39 - square footage 23:55 - fermi estimates 27:45 - value per run 31:09 - recap 31:48 - operationalizing 34:51 - how the work gets done 43:22 - epilogue
