Next week I defend my masters thesis on the GNSS remote sensing station I designed and built for flash flood nowcasting. The project is far from over and I hope to continue my research wherever I end up next.

Today I had the opportunity to present my graduate research on flash flood nowcasting using low-cost GNSS receivers at our internal student research symposium. A lot of work yet to be done, but it’s nice to celebrate my progress thus far.

It breaks my heart to see these flooding events in New Mexico and Texas. If there’s anything that can motivate me more to work on my flash flood research and get equipment in the field, it’s things like this…

LTE board is built! Finishing up the main system board schematics this weekend, then they’re off for review!

Part of my thesis research involved designing an M.2 duel-frequency GNSS card to use in my remote sensing system. Also in the pipeline is an LTE card to transmit data from the field and finishing the design/layout of the main board. Channeling my inner @gregdavill.bsky.social with these pictures.
