Pro tip: if you're messing with your bootloader config and what not, take the time to disable EXPO in your bios. Future you will appreciate it. Boot times on ddr5 are absolute horseshit lmao

It'd be hilarious for someone to build a code editor on top of GPUI and in a few years from now see development on Zed cease in favour of this new editor The Atom curse

Blaming the recent AUR compromise on Arch, or commenting how other distros are supposedly "more secure" is completely stupid and irrelevant. That's like saying GitHub's compromised because some repos are malware, or that a 3rd party APT repo shipping malware is Debian's fault. Nonsense.

Bluesky network20d ago

FYI: There is an ongoing malware campaign on the Arch User Repository. Many orphaned packages are being updated to install the malicious npm dependency `atomic-lockfile`. The involved NPM package has not been flagged as malicious by @socket.dev yet. Be careful!

Fellow Pixel phone owners: it is possible (with a little bit of effort) to set @kagi.com as the home screen search engine! ✨ - Get the Kagi Search app - Connect to the phone via ADB (see wiki.archlinux.org/title/Android_…) - Run `adb shell settings put secure selected_search_engine com.kagi.search`

I forgot I pinned some secrets to PCR 0 and flashed new firmware. Well that's unfortunate. So I'm sitting there flashing the old version again (update didn't fix the minor bug I was encountering anyways) 🙃

I don't know what Bluesky uses for translation, but omg does it suck The translations are absolute garbage, it doesn't even make any sense 😭😭 A word-for-word translation system would work better 😭😭😭

I sleep so well knowing that zsh scripts put to shame rust counterparts by obliterating them beyond belief performance wise Here's one of the most brutal ones: Starship the blazing-slow shell prompt 👩‍🦽 github.com/romkatv/zsh-...

One of the worst pain points with Git is that unless you have perfect repository management for the entire life of the repo, it quickly gets VERY heavy. I have cloned tons of repositories that were easily 10x or even 100x the weight of the Linux Kernel repository, because of poor practices...

Why do we even give any credit to vibe-coded rewrites or just any tech influencers There's like 20 of them. We're millions writing software professionally (as in, inside real corporations/structures with real users) Can we all just stop giving parasites any credit so they die alone please?

I don't use llms but to compensate for the lack of useless carbon contribution on my part I've clean-built Chromium 8 times in the past 24 hours 💪
