Report

I enjoy solving problems. I love tinkering. If it is winter, you will probably find me in the mountains.

I stream programming on Twitch way too much. We are at about 70 average viewers with 1000+ unique views per day. (~6 hour streams). Do you have a product or technology you want people to be exposed to? Maybe I can help. https://twitch.tv/cmgriffing

Proficionym

proficionym.appropont.com

Feb 2017 - Present

http://proficionym.appropont.com An Angular2 app that fetches synonyms and checks if the domain names for those synonyms are taken. The API is written using Node/Express.

Nimbuscam

appropont.github.io/nimbuscam/

Apr 2016 - Present

https://appropont.github.io/nimbuscam/ Nimbuscam is a more thought out version of s3cam that was coded using Ember.js. It uses getUserMedia and a webcam to act as a security camera that uploads motion-detected frames to a cloud provider of your choice. This iteration of the idea allows for easy creation of new cloud provider adapters as well as advanced features such as a read ahead buffer and a keep-alive timer to make sure that no action is missed.

The Foundry Clothing

thefoundryclothing.com

Jul 2014 - Present

http://thefoundryclothing.com The Foundry Clothing is a Seattle-based screen printing shop and clothing company. The site consists of Magento as the root app with a Wordpress blog managing most of the user-editable site content via a custom plugin. This communication between Magento and Wordpress is done via custom JSON endpoints.

S3cam.js

appropont.github.io/s3camjs/

Nov 2013 - Present

Repo: https://github.com/appropont/s3camjs I built this prototype based off of Addy Osmani's getUserMedia shim. As a prototype, it was thrown together as a proof-of-concept. I am currently working on an Ember-based version of this app that will be cloud-agnostic and coded cleanly with maintainability in mind.

Stevens Pass Snowboard Shop

stevenspasssnowboardshop.com

Oct 2010 - Present

https://stevenspasssnowboardshop.com This project initially started as a blog so that the snowboard shop in Goldbar, WA could have an online presence beyond social media. This eventually evolved into an e-commerce site powered by Magento while still using Wordpress for blogging, out of concerns for security. This integration between Magento and Wordpress was done before the official WP-API project started being integrated into the Wordpress Core, so it uses a custom solution which was actually quite novel at the time.
