I'm a bit bullish on this. I think the harnesses for both web Claude and ChatGPT are getting a bit unwieldy, in a way that will be harder to refactor bad features out of later. Given the pace of improvements it's probably worth lagging a little here and seeing what best practices actually shake out.

Pipecat released 1.0 this morning and it's sitting in my backlog of stuff I need to look at but by the time I do there'll be a 1.1.

Huh. GOOG pulling back on multiplatform builds kinda sucks IMO. It's a huge pita for small co's to maintain separate codebases for ios and android versions of your app. crossbuilding to both is a big win. What was the feedback that pushed them to do this?

OMG I'm never going to finish writing AI Camp at this rate.

Is it possible today to point to a community.lexicon.calendar.event record in app.bsky.embed.record for a post, and then write a feed generator that massively bumps the visibility of the post before the event, and suppresses it after?

"One hallmark of expertise, after all, is a reduction of the degrees of freedom that a decision presents to the problem-solver (Jagacinski and Flach, 2002)" - Behind Human Error

"This code was failing because there were no available ephemeral ports left!

I bring this up because Calabro simply mentions as an aside how he (correctly!) interpreted the error message. He just shows the error, and then writes (emphasis mine):

> The timing of these log spikes lined up with drops in user-facing traffic, which makes sense. Our data plane heavily uses memcached to keep load off our main Scylla database, and if we’re exhausting ports, that’s a huge problem.

That’s expertise in action!"

OK departure from Dario when he said ICL is probably enough. 10 years ago I'd say that was a sign that DM thought they could deliver on learned weights in a profitable way. But now CEOs speak a lot more candidly. I'm kind of rooting for ICL to be good enough, but this would be cool too.

It's probably just part of getting older, but I do fantasize about "if I had archived my childhood experiences more durably and could revisit them, would they seem less dear?"
