Research and innovation are essential to prosperity, human well-being, and sustainability. Research Impact Assessment RIA is fundamental in delivering effective R&D and in measuring the success of related investment. To this end, the International School on Research Impact Assessment (ISRIA) was founded to foster the science of RIA across all fields of sciences, and to support sustainability of research systems. ISRIA was founded by the Agency of Health Quality and Assessment (AQuAS), RAND Europe and Alberta Innovates – Health Solutions (AIHS) in 2013. The inaugural School was hosted in Barcelona, Spain in Sep 2013, followed by a second edition in Banff, Canada in Sep 2014 and a third edition in Doha, Qatar in Oct 2015. This year’s edition of the ISRIA will be hosted by CSIRO from Sep 19th- 23rd, 2016, where international experts in the field of RIA will lead a five-day, hands-on school in Melbourne, Australia.
