A leading figure in horror/cult film criticism (a notoriously low-paying field) needs your support. Please help a fellow autistic.
"One of the data analysts for Netflix told me that one of the key reasons for the success at that time of Sense8 was due to the stunning number of times viewers would come to the end and watch the show again almost immediately. Some watched it end to end four or five times."
What Bluesky needs is the ability to add alt text to a post after it has gone viral. It avoids all the "now with alt text" reposts.
This shows why analogue media is better than digital. There is always a chance that a lost episode on film will be found, but the ones recorded over are lost forever. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Finally, a film list done properly (with the care and attention to detail of a music challenge)
The National Autistic Society's response to the Uta Frith interview in the TES. "Autism is complex and it’s simply not possible to fit people into sub-categories, despite how much others might find it convenient." www.autism.org.uk/blog/challen...
The problem is people see "disabled" and "injured" as completely different things. They know they can be injured - that's bad luck and can happen to anyone. That's what hospitals are for. But they see disability as something else. It's from birth. It's benefits, not hospitals. It's other people.
The "diagnosed but not told" autistic people tend to get forgotten in the debates within the community about masking, diagnosis, etc. It's probably more common than we realise. We need to do more to fight the fear and embarrassment about autism that still causes parents to do it.
No thanks. As an autistic person, I find comfort and solidarity in the fact that we are all part of the same spectrum. www.tes.com/magazine/tea...
Another neurodivergent victim of cuckooing and mate crime (mate crime = befriending the victim and exploiting their isolation and loneliness). www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
