Set-up Element AI's AI for climate practice working on machine learning solutions with earth observation data for monitoring climate change signals and supporting decision-making; developed commercial offering combining operational improvement and machine learning techniques to reduce energy usage, GHG emissions and waste in manufacturing. Prior to that, led partnerships for the company's AI for Good division, working with a variety of public and private organizations on AI applications for the public benefit.

I co-led the Global Council, which brought together leading experts from the technology and human rights sectors to examine challenges and opportunities from emerging technologies.

I undertook research on challenging facing human rights and published a paper entitled "On the Future of Human Rights", which put forward three proposals: 1. putting climate change at the top of the human rights agenda; 2. significantly increasing the amount of work on Economic, Social and Cultural (ESC) rights undertaken by human rights advocacy and campaigning organizations, and 3. adopting a system-analysis and solutions-based approach to human rights.

I co-founded and led Amnesty International's global technology and human rights program; oversaw a program of investigations on the impact of new and emerging technologies on human rights; set-up the organization's digital security lab and piloted the use of machine learning in human rights research.

Responsible for Amnesty International's research, advocacy and campaigning on technology & human rights, refugee protection, and migrants' rights.

• Managing the Refugee and Migrants’ Rights unit; • Leading the development of an integrated organization-wide strategy on refugee and migrants’ rights, including managing major global projects and advocacy initiatives; • Acting as a senior specialist adviser on refugee and migrants’ rights to the organization; • Leading an organizational consultation on the effect of climate change on human rights; • Developing and managing a program of high-quality research, leading research missions, training researchers and approving research reports; • Representing the organization as a senior advocate to governments, the United Nations and other organisations;

Research and advocacy on rights of refugees, IDPs and migrants in the Middle East and North Africa Region; field research in several countries; designing and conducting training workshops.

Monitoring of development projects; reporting to donors; seeking new donors and sponsors.
