I don't think he was too far away from racing line. I would say that speed delta surprised Bearman there. Ideally you want to get alongside the driver a bit later there.
Agree. Also, I would like to see how racing is without the overtake mode. The infamous DRS was a gimmick to try to fix a known racing problem, but the overtake mode feels more like trying to cross the bridge before you come to it.

Do we really need overtake mode? Boost mode might be enough on its own to have overtaking options. It will remove an artificial component and it would simplify things a bit #F1

Good pace? That's where I disagree. They are comfortably second but I think today Mercedes were much quicker. Ferrari's starts are much better though, so the will have a chance to get in front and defend the position.
Yeah I saw. I would have stopped one of the Ferraris at least. I was trying to say that they could even risk a 2-stop strategy with one of the cars considering the pace difference to Norris

It was going to be difficult to avoid the Mercedes 1-2 today, but it was like they didn't even try and they had quite a margin to Norris to try something with at least one of the cars.
I don't think they are. I'm afraid it will start to be boring after a few races. For this kind of racing we already have Formula E. #F1
The #F1 race today was entertaining but I'm worried about the quality of racing in this new era. The superclipping or boost overtakes are not the kind of wheel-to-wheel battles I enjoy. For the first time in more than 25 years I feel that this new F1 might bore me in a few races like #FormulaE did.
