Leading teams to build projects for other companies, including customers like Cisco and the BBC, building server infrastructure, testing tools, web applications, retail analytics tools, mobile news apps, and more, with every tool under the sun. Took teams and customers from initial idea, through scoping, design, many iterations of development and deployment, and eventually final release and support. Responsible for the final technical quality of a project, and everything that plays into that: the team's training and development, the tools used, the practices followed, code review, and handling all of the customer's technical requirements, questions and challenges. Also ran both the developer outreach and open-source programmes. Frequently spoke at conferences across the world (see https://tim.fyi for examples) and wrote technical articles, whilst also encouraging and supporting open-source involvement, and organising open-source hackathons and other events.
