Set Studio started as my freelance design & front-end development consultancy and evolved into an agency, specialising in designing and developing websites that look incredible and work for everyone—regardless of their device or connection type. Over the years I, and more recently, the studio, have produced world class design systems, web design and development for clients such as Google, The National History Museum, VICE, Clearleft and OCEG. Our approach at Set Studio is what guarantees the quality of the work we produce and we know that the trick to delivering successful products is to remove ambiguity. That’s why we always start with a full research and discovery process—hearing from your stakeholders, in-house experts and product teams. We’ll also carry out research to understand what your audience needs from you. We use this to create a transparent, value-centred brief, grounded in data.

I founded Piccalilli at first as my technical blog. Over the years it's evolved from that to a self-sustained, profitable publisher, providing high quality education in the form of articles, a newsletter and premium courses.

I've been lucky enough to have spoken at some great conferences in the UK, internationally and remotely. I'm also lucky to have had my writing work published by great publications such as CSS-Tricks and Smashing Magazine. I co-authored Every Layout with Heydon Pickering, wrote a large portion of Learn CSS for Google's web.dev and wrote Learn Eleventy From Scratch, along with heaps of tutorials and tips on Piccalilli.
