## About

Social worker, researcher, and community organizer working at the intersections of Black queer survival, abolitionist health praxis, and critical methodology.

My doctoral research at Dalhousie University theorizes how Black queer and trans communities generate care outside institutional health systems, particularly through kiki ballroom culture in Tiohtià:ke. I develop speculative care as a framework for understanding how care is practiced through kinship, mutual aid, and embodied relation, and the Fugitive Care Intravention as a methodology for researching from within care infrastructures without converting them into objects of institutional knowledge production.

Drawing on Afropessimist critique, Black feminist theory, and abolitionist social work, my work stays accountable to the communities that produce it — beyond reform, beyond recognition, and beyond what institutions have been willing to sustain.

Open to research collaborations, speaking opportunities, and community partnerships rooted in care and liberation.

## Experience

- **Registered Social Worker at Vincent Mousseau** (2021 – present)
I provide clinical social work services with a focus on anti-oppressive and anti-racist practices within 2SLGBTQ+ communities. My work includes individual counseling, advocacy, and developing resources that address the unique challenges faced by marginalized groups. I also lead community initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive, supportive environments.
- **Co-Instructor at Dalhousie University** (2022 – 2022)
  As a co-instructor for SLWK 5003
\- Critical Clinical Practice Foundations for Social Work Intervention, I supported course instruction by facilitating discussions, grading assignments, and offering academic guidance to students. My role involved ensuring that students developed a critical understanding of clinical practice through an anti-oppressive lens.
- **Registered Social Worker at Clinique medicale L'Actuel** (2020 – 2021)
At Clinique médicale L’Actuel, I assessed and addressed the psychosocial needs of patients living with HIV, with the goal of improving their treatment adherence and social functioning. I developed and implemented individualized care plans, coordinating with medical staff to ensure comprehensive support for each patient.
- **Project Officer at RÉZO, santé et mieux-être des hommes gais et bisexuels, cis et trans** (2020 – 2020)

My responsibilities included project design, community outreach, and service delivery, with a focus on improving access to culturally relevant health and wellness resources.
- **Managing Editor at Art/iculation** (2017 – 2020)
As Managing Editor, I oversaw the editorial operations of Art/iculation, managing content creation, editorial calendars, and budgets. I was responsible for commissioning articles, editing submissions, and ensuring the publication maintained its focus on social justice issues. Additionally, I supervised a team of writers and editors, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
- **Research Assistant, #GotBlood2Give at McGill University** (2018 – 2020)
In this research role, I contributed to a study examining barriers to blood donation among African, Caribbean, and Black men who have sex with men. My duties included data collection, participant recruitment, and analysis, with the goal of identifying systemic challenges and proposing solutions to increase participation in blood donation.
- **BIPOC Service Coordinator at Project 10** (2018 – 2019)
As the BIPOC Service Coordinator, I provided tailored support to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) youth within the LGBTQ+ community. My work involved direct service delivery, program development, and advocacy, ensuring that BIPOC youth had access to culturally appropriate resources and support.
- **Outreach Worker at RÉZO, santé et mieux-être des hommes gais et bisexuels, cis et trans** (2017 – 2017)
