## Projects

- **Life on Earth – FloTree** — https://lifeonearth.seas.harvard.edu/learning-activities/flotree/ (May 2011 - May 2012)
The FloTree is a playful representation of the evolutionary process acting over a continuous stream of living things. Colorful dots represent individuals and their traits. As visitors try their hand with the dynamic simulation, they see evolution in action with populations separating into divergent species. This representation attempts to aid visitors to relate the evolutionary process to the tree of life.

This project is now an exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences.
- **SandCanvas** — http://www.sandcanvas.com (Jan 2010 - Aug 2010)
Sand animation is a performance art technique in which an artist tells stories by creating animated images with sand. Inspired by this medium, we have developed a new multi-touch digital artistic medium named SandCanvas that simplifies the creation of sand animations. SandCanvas also goes beyond traditional sand animation with tools for mixing sand animation with video and replicating recorded free-form hand gestures.
