## About

I work on meaning; specifically, how organizations generate it, lose control of it, and can reclaim it. My practice sits at the intersection of semiotics, rhetoric, and systems thinking.

I help organizations understand the symbolic and narrative structures they are already operating inside, identify where those structures have drifted or collapsed, and rebuild them so their positioning becomes coherent, legible, and durable within the cultural logic.

This work is less about individual units of messaging and more about the broader symbolic architecture. Brands communicate whether they intend to or not. I focus on what is being signaled beneath the surface—through language, structure, incentives, interfaces, and institutional habits—and how those signals compound over time.

I previously built Symbolscape as a consultancy centered on marketing systems and automation. That work taught me how meaning scales, how narratives fracture under operational pressure, and why tactical execution fails when the underlying logic is unsound. Industrial Semiotics emerged from that realization: a shift from optimizing outputs to interrogating foundations.

I work with SMBs, nonprofits, and professional services organizations on reframing identity, aligning narrative systems, and clarifying what they actually stand for in practice—not just in copy.

- **Creator & Architect at Skysquare** (2025 – present)
  Building Skysquare to be a real-time context layer for the open web on the AT Protocol, reconnecting public discourse back to the source material it references.
  
  Skysquare ingests Bluesky activity in real time, detects referenced URLs, and reconstructs conversation at the level of the original page—allowing readers to see how a work is being interpreted directly in context.
  
  Designed for high-information use cases across journalism, research, and analysis, with a focus on restoring context as a first-class object and making authorship and interpretation legible within the flow of reading.
- **Field Producer at Snippies** (2011 – 2015)
  This role was my introduction to the fast-paced world of corporate video production right out of graduate school. I learned to bring together diverse teams, adapt swiftly to on-site challenges, and create compelling narratives around cutting-edge technology and thought leadership.
  
  RESPONSIBILITIES  Corporate Video Production: Produced micro-documentaries, industrial, and corporate communication content for clients such as Google, YouTube, Intuit, AT&T, Box, and Netflix.
  
  Project Management: Owned every stage of production, from interpreting creative briefs to assembling crews, scheduling shoots, and managing on-location logistics.
  
  Executive Interviews: Conducted hundreds of on-camera interviews with high-profile executives and thought leaders (e.g., Scott Cook, Aaron Levie, Avinash Kaushik, Mitch Joel), ensuring authentic storytelling and impactful content.
  
  Creative Direction: Collaborated with editorial teams to maintain brand voice, shape narratives, and meet rigorous client standards in fast-paced production environments.
- **President at Symbolscape Inc.** (2015 – present)
  Overview: Founded and operated Symbolscape as a boutique consultancy specializing in marketing systems, content strategy, and automation infrastructure. Over 15 years, the practice evolved from executional delivery to strategic narrative consulting, ultimately laying the groundwork for Industrial Semiotics. This work served as both apprenticeship and laboratory in meaning-making at scale.
