I have a wide experience in Application Development and Software Design & Architecture, as well as Project and Team Management. Main focus is on Content Management Tools (including SharePoint) and web-based application development. That includes the mobile world (tablets, smartphones), since "mobile" has become indispensable for individuals as well as enterprises.

## Experience

- **Teacher at Stad Antwerpen** (1981 – 1983)
  I have taught History and Ethics classes at several secondary schools of the City of Antwerp (B). And together with one of my colleagues there I wrote a textbook on "Programming in Basic" on the Apple II for 12 to 14 year old students.
- **IT Project Manager at Gemeentekrediet / Dexia Bank Belgium** (1986 – 2012)
  Here's a brief overview of the functions I have excercised (in chronological order): IT trainer, functional analist, team coordinator/manager (up to 30 people), project manager, and technical lead. I have been involved in the development of stand-alone tools as well as client/server architectures and (currently) web-based applications. I have built applications for developers (for versioning, bug tracking and deployment), teller applications for branch offices, and administrative tools. I have been involved in several content management solutions for internal use, including Wikis.
  
  In the last years of this job I have been maintaining the Dexia content management tools and doing intranet application development using Adobe's ColdFusion platform; at the same time, I was involved in developing solutions with Microsoft SharePoint.

  't Kofschip is the elementary school where two of my children started their "school career" ;-)
- **Trainer at Olivetti School** (1986 – 1986)
  I have written and taught a course "An Introduction to Pascal" at several Belgian Banks, including the Gemeentekrediet van Belgie (now known as Belfius Bank). A slightly adapted version of the course textbook has been used for 15 years at Gemeentekrediet / Dexia Bank.
- **Civil Service at Vlaamse Jeugdherbergcentrale** (1984 – 1985)
  I refused to do my military service, and chose to help out VJH headquarters (VJH = the Flemish Youth Hostels) with al kinds of jobs: administration, the organisation of VJH presence at travel fairs, redesign of the member magazine, travel shop sales, ...
- **IT Project Manager at Belfius Bank** (2012 – 2023)
  I was involved in several collaboration solutions for internal use in the company, most of them based on Microsoft SharePoint. Mobile apps played an increasingly large part in these projects, so I was supervising a few (small) development projects on both iOS and Android.
  
  Additionally, I continued to maintain around 50 ColdFusion applications (extending them when needed, upgrading versions and servers, etc.).
