## About

I am a PhD candidate in natural language processing at the University of Amsterdam's  (UvA) Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC). My primary research topic is evaluating generalisation in misinformation detection systems. Before that, I graduated from UvA's MSc Artificial Intelligence program, and completed my undergrad in Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University College Roosevelt.

- **Consultant at De Kleine Consultant** (2018 – 2018)
  As consultant at DKC, I worked for both a healthcare tech startup, as well as a multinational industry leader, focusing on product development and market penetration. Within small teams of 3
  \- 4 other consultants, we spend 12 weeks analyzing and solving complex strategical problems. Projects require both understanding of quantitative and qualitative analyses. This is done under the guidance of coaches provided by firms like AT Kearney, McKinsey, Bain & Company and Strategy&. In my second round of consulting, I further led the recruitment effort of the Middelburg branch, towards academic institutions in Zeeland.
- **Teaching Assistant at UvA** (2021 – 2022)
  Assisted teaching by running lab sessions, grading assignments and providing feedback to students. Taught Natural Language Processing 1 in November 2021 and 2022.

  SoTA joint morphological taggers and lemmatizers in context. Reproduction and extension of the SIGMORPHON/CONLL 2019 Shared Task 2.
- **misinfo-general**
  The code, data and research metadata for ‘Yesterday’s News’. Includes 4.7M long-form news articles with reliability annotations.
- **prob_conf_mat**
  Statistical inference with confusion matrices, Enables uncertainty quantification, experiment aggregation and significance testing in classification experiments.
- **emotion_datasets**
  An effort to automate the downloading and processing of textual datasets for emotion classification. Inspired by sarnthil/unify-emotion-datasets, but updated and more comprehensive.
