## About

Daniel is a CTO/Founder, with experience both in the agency and in the SaaS startup worlds. He has expertise in building a tech stack or infrastructure strategy, developing and building a tech team, but has a passion for communication and the user perspective and making sure that tech serves a useful purpose.

He's a key contributor to the Vue.js and Nuxt ecosystems, leads the Nuxt core team, and is involved in consultancy with companies around the world, particularly around JAMstack, serverless and software architecture. He's based in Edinburgh and the North East of England.

## Experience

- **Founder at Roebuck Software** (1998 – 2002)
  Coded desktop applications and websites, including the showcase for China Millennium Productions in New York Fashion Week.
- **CEO at Concision** (2015 – 2019)
  Grew this digital agency from scratch, building a reputation in the North East of England for our big-picture, message-focused approach. Multi-disciplinary job role, including business development, developing marketing strategies for clients, content writing and editing, logo and website design, build and deployment.
- **Associate vicar at St Mark's Rawcliffe** (2010 – 2015)
  Among other things, designed and built brand and tech stack for the church’s digital presence. Led and managed a team of volunteers involved in the community and set overall vision.
- **Co-Founder & CTO at Parent Scheme** (2019 – 2021)
  HR-tech SaaS startup. Designed the app architecture, drove product development, and coded the full stack (Laravel, Nuxt, CubeJS, Node.js running on AWS, Digital Ocean Kubernetes and Vercel). Recruited and trained a team of three other developers, mentoring and providing direction
  \- alongside product management and line managing two designers and an animator.

  \* technical and strategic advice for startups, from recruiting to founder responsibilities
  \* identifying the key value proposition and messaging for a product

  I lead the core team building Nuxt, a framework for building full-stack web apps.
  
  That includes leading the ongoing development, direction, and community engagement for Nuxt, its ecosystem and related open source projects.
