  • Engaged with manufacturing engineers to gather requirements and make improvements to our manufacturing automation systems.
  • Mentored junior developers both on Vistaprint specific topics as well as engineering best practices such as Unit Testing and software architecture.
- **Lead Engineer at RateGravity** (2018 – 2023)
- **Director of Engineering at Newfire Global Partners** (2023 – present)
- **Lead Software Engineer at Fitbit (now part of Google)** (2015 – 2017)
  • Technical Lead on a coaching feature leveraging the large Fitbit data set to enable users to find ways to improve their health rather than simply logging data. Assessed and adapted big data, analytics systems to stream process thousands of messages per-second
  • Started the Weight and Nutrition engineering team. Responsible for the technical roadmap and health of the Weight and Food logging components of Fitbit, including the Mobile APIs and SQL databases
  • Launched the GuidedGoal Setting onboarding feature, as lead engineer, which included designing a reusable survey system, and complete continuous integration and deployment pipeline on Apache AuroraandMesos

  • Directed an external security audit for penetration testing. Resolved security vulnerabilities and lead department wide security training
  • Established engineering organization standards: career ladder, competencies, a yearly review process, and hiring best practices
  • Managed both individual contributors and managers. Created a culture of continuous learning focused on innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Provided regular learning and development opportunities for engineers to explore new technical areas and bring those learnings back to the team. Resulted in no attrition over 5 years
  • Coached engineers to establish a customer centric culture, and quality mindset where everyone was accountable for the quality and usability of the work they delivered
  • Provided code and architecture reviews for engineers to ensure our systems were easily maintained
  • Selected and managed outside contractors to augment in-house staffing where hiring didn't align with long-term org strategy
  • Championed and built early iterations of the CI/CD pipeline leveraging GitHub Actions, AWS CloudFormation, and Rollup.js that allowed 5 teams to maintain 50+ microservices and get new features to production in hours instead of days
  • Identified parts of our Typescript codebase that could be open-sourced and acted as primary maintainer
