## About

I am a physicist with a PhD in Astrophysics. I have gathered experience in scientific research and hands-on technology during my positions at the European Southern Observatory in Chile (SEST) and the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. I have been deeply involved with the development, testing, commissioning, operating and calibrating of the Herschel Space Observatory.

Currently, I am employed at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. Most of the time I work as a press and outreach officer based at the affiliated Haus der Astronomie (House of Astronomy), an educational and outreach centre on the same campus. Sometimes, I also engage in astronomy education by producing school materials and support vocational training of physics students that potentially become teachers.

I also lead MPIA's Science Media Department that is mainly responsible for providing all kinds of support to scientists to disseminate their work. This department organisationally includes the graphics department and the MPIA library.

I have a talent for and experience in communicating scientific results to various groups of different background. Education has always been a key interest. I like including different disciplines such as history, art, and music.
